This one’s super easy to do – no power tools needed.
To create the look I used in my son’s forest themed bedroom you’ll need the following supplies:
- 1 ceiling fan with leaf style blades (I used this one but any version with leaf style blades will work)
- 2-3 sample cans of paint, 2 in varying shades of green and 1 white
- Paint brushes
That’s it.
Take your blades out of their packaging and start painting. I used the veining that came on our blades to concentrate darker color along the “stem” and the lighter green to fill in the middle sections. Occasionally I would mix both greens with drops of white to get some depth in the color.
The treetop ceiling fan makeover is really about trial, error, and personal taste. If you hate your finished product, use a scrubbing brush and some soapy water to wash it off and start again. Or just paint another color over it if it’s already dried – you can take as long as you want and go over this as many times as you want until you get the look you’re going for. But something tells me you probably won’t need that many attempts at it.
I got my client involved in the process and I think he nailed it 🙂
So there you have it – that’s really all you need to do your own treetop ceiling fan makeover
